As per the contract, Revolt Motors must deliver the 1,100 electric motorcycles to the Bihar Police by January 2027. However, the company aims to fulfill the order well before the deadline at the end of this month. He will hand over the bikes to the police department in the state capital Patna.

Revolt Motors has six electric motorcycles in its range, with prices ranging between 99,999 rupees (940 euros) and 144,950 rupees (1,362 euros), not including registration fees or insurance. Bihar Police has chosen one of the company’s high-end models, the BlazeX, which costs Rs 134,990 (€1,268) ex-showroom, for its fleet order.

The BlazeX is an electric commuter motorcycle with an IP67-rated mid-motor producing 4.1 kW and 37.4 Nm of torque, sourced from local manufacturer Sona Comstar. An IP67-rated 3.24 kWh battery pack comprising CATL-sourced NMC cells powers this motor. This configuration allows the BlazeX to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 150 kilometers.

Charging the 3.24 kWh battery from 0 to 100 percent SoC takes 4 hours and 45 minutes. If there is no charging point available near the motorcycle, the battery can be removed and charged separately at any regular power outlet. It offers a range of 150 kilometers, according to IDC (Indian Driving Cycle).

Revolt Motors began selling electric motorcycles in August 2019 and has delivered more than 60,000 units so far. Commenting on the Bihar Police order, Anjali Rattan, Chairman of Revolt Motors’ parent company RattanIndia Enterprises, said: “Securing an order for 1,100 e-bikes from the Bihar Police is an important step for Revolt. Institutional mobility presents a different set of requirements than individual ownership, and commitments of this scale give us the opportunity to bring our products to real-world operational environments. We see institutional adoption as an important avenue to expand the role of e-bikes. in India.”
