A 49-year-old man is involved in a fire in his apartment Fürth been seriously injured. The fire department had to rescue the man from the fifth floor of an apartment building using a turntable ladder, the police said. The apartment was already ablaze at the time. The injured man was taken to a hospital.

Two other residents of the apartment building were slightly injured in the fire. According to the fire, smoke and the extinguishing work caused damage police also several apartments in the complex. Ten are currently uninhabitable. The amount of damage was initially unknown. The criminal police are now investigating how the fire could have started.
