Indian charging company Charge_iN, a subsidiary of automobile giant Mahindra, has announced milestones and the expansion of its charging network. The first site of the company’s collaboration with HPCL was commissioned along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was announced in March 2026 to roll out electric vehicle charging infrastructure across India, leveraging HPCL’s nationwide network of filling stations.
The Charge_iN subsidiary was announced in November 2025, following Mahindra’s record year of electric car sales in 2024. The company announced the expansion of its ultra-fast public electric vehicle charging network to 50 locations across India. With the most recently installed public charging station for electric cars, the network now extends along one of the busiest intercity corridors in India.
Charge_iN stations exclusively operate 180 kW dual-gun chargers. These are capable of charging Mahindra’s electric SUV, the XEV 9e and subsequent models built on the same ‘INGLO’ platform.
The charging subsidiary has said it now operates 200 charging stations across India, but also that Mahindra EV owners can access approximately 35,000 public charging points across the country. These include HP eCharge stations at various charging point operators via the Me4U app.
