RB Leipzig signs Brajan Gruda on loan again from Brighton. How high the purchase obligation is and what shirt number the offensive player receives.
Leipzig – All parties had been working towards this for a long time, now it is official: RB Leipzig has loaned Brajan Gruda again from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 22-year-old offensive player will play for the Saxons for another year, this time even with the option of staying permanently with the Bundesliga club.
According to media reports, the deal includes a purchase obligation that is linked to an easily achievable number of competitive game stakes. The overall package of the deal is said to amount to around 30 million euros, which would place Gruda among the ten most expensive additions in RB Leipzig’s young history.
Convinced in the second half of the season: Brajan Gruda was loaned out again to RB Leipzig
“Brajan is technically strong, creative, has a high pace and enriches our offensive with his skills in the final third. Despite his young age, he already has a lot of experience at the highest level from the Bundesliga and the Premier League,” said managing director of sports Marcel Schäfer, praising the new signing in a club statement.
Gruda himself is very happy about staying with the Champions League participant, as he revealed to the club media: “It quickly became clear to me that I would like to stay at RB Leipzig. The style of play suits me very well, I feel completely at home in the team and in the entire club.
Gruda was loaned from Brighton to Leipzig for the first time in February 2026 and impressed straight away. In 14 competitive games in the second half of the season he scored three goals and three assists. The breakthrough did not come as hoped for the English first division club Brighton, who signed him from 1. FSV Mainz 05 for around 30 million euros in 2024. His contract on the English south coast runs until 2028.
According to “Sky”, RB Leipzig is said to have also prevailed against Borussia Dortmund. Brajan Gruda will wear the number ten shirt in Leipzig and will enrich the offensive of the new head coach Martin Demichelis in a season with three competitions. Gruda had already proven that he has the potential in both Mainz and Leipzig. (tos)
