The Audi A2 e-tron was launched globally on September 7, 2026. The focus of the design is to make it more accessible and smaller. The car model moves away from its conventional approach to bring a more modern exterior and features.
Audi A2 e-tron Targets Efficiency With 646 km Range
Audi A2 e-tron can consume energy up to 12.8kWh/100km. The car combines a more efficient electric drive unit which makes an energy efficient model.
Passengers will now face less turbulence and aerodynamic drag due to the 0.24 cd feature of the car. The car uses a streamlined body, air curtains around the front wheels, wheel- arch gap reduction, aerodynamic wheels and a smooth underbody. It also has an active air intake that can close when the cooling airflow is unnecessary. The aerodynamics of the car can contribute upto 0.9kW/h/100 km of WLTP energy consumption savings.
Audi Reduces Motor Losses With Thinner Electrical Laminations
The efficient electric drive system of the model focuses heavily on reducing losses. The car features a synchronous motor and uses thinner electrical laminations to reduce iron losses.
The car has a WLTP range of 646 km. Instead of increasing battery capacity, the new model reduces the amount of electricity the car needs to cover each kilometre. Beside, the LFP battery chemistry in its 61-kWh battery configuration offers good durability and avoids nickel and cobalt in cathode chemistry.
V2L Turns the A2 e-tron Into a Portable Power Source
The Vehicle to Load feature enables the car to become more than just a mode of transportation. V2L allows external electrical devices to draw power from the vehicle. With compatible home equipment, V2H allows stored energy in the vehicle to be used by the home. This makes it act as a portable energy source under compatible conditions.
