XPENG had a fantastic sales month in October. We can give you the numbers, but as you can see pretty well in the chart above and below, the company’s sales skyrocketed to a whole new level last month.
Achieving 50,237 vehicle deliveries meant 22% sales growth month over month and 20% sales growth year over year. There was 41,256 XPENG vehicles delivered in September 2026 and 42,013 delivered in October 2025, the company’s previous monthly record. Will it be another year until XPENG breaks its monthly sales record again, or is the October 2026 result just the start of more record sales in the coming months?
Well, there are some reasons to expect even more growth. “In October 2026, the XPENG L05 was officially launched in mainland China and deliveries will begin in November. January 1, 2026,” shares XPENG. “On October 26, 2026, XPENG obtained a demonstration operation license to perform Level 4 Robotaxi services in Guangzhou. “The approval allows XPENG Robotaxi to move from technology validation to real-world business and operating model validation, marking a key milestone towards commercialization of XPENG’s physical AI technologies.”
A large portion of this sales growth came from tremendous sales growth outside XPENG’s home market of China. “Overseas deliveries also reached an all-time monthly high of 13,326 units, a year-on-year increase of 166%,” the company shares.
Overall, things are looking very good for XPENG. And those EV sales are also helping the planet and humanity. “XPENG electric vehicles delivered from January to October 2026 are expected to reduce lifetime greenhouse gas emissions by more than 5.77 million tonnes compared to internal combustion engine vehicles, equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 95.43 million young trees over 10 years,” XPENG wrote in conclusion, and I’ll close with that highlight as well.
Oh wait, I’ll also add that XPENG’s huge sales increase in October helped the company surpass its similar (but different) rival NIO in its long-term battle as the best-selling smart electric vehicle startup.
NIO didn’t have its best month, but perhaps it will rise again in November and/or December.
