The UK launch follows the introduction of the updated models in continental Europe. In September, Renault opened orders for the revised Scenic in France, and that same month both the new Scenic and Mégane became available for order in Germany. For reference: the Mégane starts at €34,990 in Germany, while the Scenic starts at €42,590. However, as both models are eligible for the UK EV grant, direct comparison with European prices is complicated by different national incentives. German prices, for example, are list prices before any equivalent German subsidies are applied.
The latest Scenic E-Tech now uses an 89 kWh battery in its 220 Long Range version, increasing its WLTP range up to 642 km (399 miles). Its maximum DC charging power remains at 150 kW, but improvements to the charging curve reduce charging time by 15 to 80 percent, from 37 to 28 minutes. A version with a 67 kWh LFP battery will also eventually join the range. In the UK, the Scenic is offered in Techno, Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine trim levels, with the base Techno variant starting from £33,245 after ECG.
Meanwhile, the updated Megane E-Tech features a new 67 kWh LFP battery that replaces its previous 60 kWh pack. Its WLTP range increases to 493 km (306 miles), while maximum DC charging power increases from 130 to 165 kW. Renault estimates a 15 to 80 percent charge time of 24 minutes. For the UK market, the Megane is available in Techno and Esprit Alpine versions from a starting price of £28,245, again, after ECG is applied.
Both models feature updated exterior and interior updates, revised driver assistance systems, as well as Renault’s latest openR link infotainment system with Google integrations.
