A 33-year-old drove his car off the road on the B6 in Asendorf (Diepholz district) and crashed into a house wall. The man suffered, among other things, a head wound and was slightly injured, a police spokesman said. His 13-year-old son was uninjured. According to initial findings, the man lost control of his vehicle in a long right-hand bend on Sunday afternoon, probably due to excessive speed.

The car left the road, drove across the oncoming lane and a sidewalk and crashed into the front of the house. The police estimated the damage at just under 25,000 euros. The vehicle was towed. The B6 was temporarily completely closed for rescue and recovery work.
