An accident on Autobahn 5 near Zeppelinheim, south of Frankfurt, has led to massive traffic delays. A truck collided with a broken down vehicle on the hard shoulder in the afternoon, the highway police said. This apparently caused the truck to skid, break through the guardrail and fall down an embankment.

The driver of the truck was slightly injured in the accident in the Offenbach district on the eastern edge of Frankfurt Airport. The road had to be completely closed in order to rescue the vehicles.
