Jürgen Klopp: Jürgen Klopp’s agent denies reports of release from Red Bull
The advisor to the possible new national soccer coach Jürgen Klopp has denied media reports that there was an agreement between the German Football Association (DFB) and Klopp’s current employer Red Bull. Consultant Marc Kosicke commented when asked by the Sports Information Service (SID). The pay TV channel Sky and the Picture had reported that Klopp’s previous employer, Red Bull, would respond to all demands made on him DFB waived.
In response to SID’s request, the DFB said: »The DFB is commenting on the current status of negotiations Jurgen Klopp not. The responsible committees will make a final decision.”
Until now, it was unclear whether Klopp would remain with Red Bull as a brand ambassador despite a commitment to the DFB – the contract with Red Bull runs until 2029. Most recently, at a meeting with Red Bull managing director Oliver Mintzlaff in New York, the topic was under what conditions the 59-year-old can get out of his contract as “Head of Global Soccer”. Most recently it was said that Klopp could remain with the group as an advisor. A transfer fee worth millions was already off the table at this point.
Reports speak of an official presentation next week
As the Picture reported that Red Bull had not made any demands on the association. Klopp will therefore not carry out any tasks as an ambassador or advisor for the group. Klopp reached an agreement with Mintzlaff. A basic agreement between the DFB and Klopp is said to have already been reached beforehand, and the association has also had unifying discussions with RB.
According to the reports, Klopp is expected to sign a contract with the DFB until 2030 on Friday and then be officially introduced. The exact content will be recorded after the World Cup final this Sunday.
Klopp is set to succeed Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned after another World Cup disaster. The first international match under the new national coach is on September 24th in Amsterdam in the Nations League against the Netherlands.
