A man has died after an accident with a quad bike in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. The 62-year-old driver drove off District Road 51 on Saturday evening for an unknown reason, the police said. He was seriously injured.

According to a statement, the man was taken to a hospital in Schwerin by rescue helicopter. He later died there from his serious injuries.

The exact cause of the accident will now be determined with the help of the criminal police.
