Consolidation is underway in the Swiss charging market: Energie 360°, a utility majority owned by the city of Zurich, is merging its charging brands, some of which were developed in-house and others acquired in recent years. These include its own division, Energie 360° Mobilität; charging pioneer Swisscharge (founded 2014); fast charging provider Gofast, wholly owned since 2022; and last year’s acquisition, Move Mobility, which alone added 4,700 charging points to the portfolio.

“By consolidating our mobility activities under Joya Mobility AG, we are creating a strong, future-ready mobility company that is constantly aligned with customer needs and driven by high innovative power,” said Romeo Deplazes, CEO of Energie 360°.

Joya operates 7,500 public charging points

Joya cites various figures about the size of its cargo network. The highlighted total of 25,000 charging points includes public and private units, mainly from fleet customers. However, the current public charging network comprises 7,500 points, making it the largest in Switzerland. Of them, 2,200 belong to Joya’s own network, for which the company offers its own subscription rates, while 5,300 are operated on behalf of partners such as Coop. Joya also claims to operate 1,800 fast charging points.

The new Joya app will be launched soon. It will allow customers to easily locate charging points, see transparent pricing, manage subscriptions, and start and pay for charging sessions. In addition, a new B2B portal for companies and fleet customers will allow them to manage user groups, prices and charging stations. “We make electric mobility simple,” said Reto Baschera, CEO of Joya. “With a nationwide charging network in Switzerland, a single app, transparent pricing and attractive subscriptions – for both EV drivers and businesses.”

The first charging points have already been renamed with the new name Joya. In the coming months, existing offerings and sites will also gradually transition to the Joya brand.

Joya will invest 150 million francs

Joya also announces major investments in Switzerland’s charging infrastructure: until 2030, the company plans to invest around 150 million francs (~€160 million) in expanding the national charging network. “We will not only maintain our position as a leader in the Swiss electric mobility market, but will also actively expand it,” Baschera stressed. This ensures that a significant part of the value creation remains in Switzerland. To further strengthen customer loyalty, Joya is also developing a loyalty program for frequent drivers, advantageous roaming offers for neighboring countries and Autocharge/Plug & Charge by 2027.

The new Joya brand also represents a strategic change for its parent company, Energie 360°. In the future, the Energie 360° brand will focus exclusively on its core business as an energy solutions provider, while Joya will clearly represent electric mobility. At the same time, Joya remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Energie 360°.
