The US launches “powerful” attacks against Iran in response to the “aggressions” against ships in Hormuz
United States Army Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced “strong” attacks against Iran in response to Iranian “aggressions” against several ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This has been reported by the US military command.
“US Central Command forces have begun launching a series of powerful attacks against Iran to impose high costs for targeting and attacking innocent civilian commercial ship crews in an international sea lane,” they said in a statement.
In it they point out that these actions “are in response to the Iranian attacks against three commercial ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz.” «The aggression demonstrated by Iran was unjustified, dangerous and a clear ceasefire violation», they have concluded.

According to US authorities, in the last few hours Iran attacked three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, including a Qatari-flagged gas tanker and a Saudi oil tanker, in incidents that caused material damage, but they left no victims between the crews. Qatar and Saudi Arabia blamed Tehran for the attacks and denounced that they put the security of international navigation and energy supplies at risk.
Iranian oil sale revoked
Hours earlier, the United States had reported the revocation of the authorization that allowed certain operations related to the Iranian oil sale after these attacks. The decision was due to the attack of those ships in Hormuz. “Iran will only benefit if it shows good behavior,” one official said.
The Treasury Department revoked the General Licenseissued on June 21, and replaced it with X1, eliminating prior authorization for these activities and establishing the process of orderly closure of operations already permitted.
In recent weeks, tensions have escalated again between Iran and the US, with Iranian attacks against several ships and US bombings against military targets. Iran had warned that negotiations for a definitive agreement with the US will not begin as long as Trump continues to threaten the ayatollah dictatorship.
