Incidents with bathers: Several police operations – outdoor pools near the border change rules
After repeated incidents near the border outdoor swimming pools In Baden-Württemberg, several cities have tightened the rules. There have recently been stricter entry controls in the outdoor swimming pools in Kehl and Müllheim after recent incidents often involving young men from neighboring Alsace.

The city responded, among other things, by reducing capacity from 1,600 to 1,400 visitors. Anyone who buys a day ticket must now provide personal details and carry photo ID. Violations can be punished with a bathing ban until the end of the season.
Twelve police operations in Müllheim
In Müllheim (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district), the police have already been deployed to the outdoor swimming pool twelve times this season – mainly for disorderly conduct, but also for bodily harm, harassment and theft. Bathers from France were involved in the majority of the incidents, said police spokesman Michael Schorr from the Freiburg police headquarters.
For around two weeks now, ID has also been required in Müllheim when purchasing tickets and bag checks at the entrance. The situation has calmed down somewhat since then, according to the city.
The city administrations Throat and Müllheim emphasized that the vast majority of guests from Alsace adhered to the rules and that bathers from across the Rhine were expressly welcome.
