According to a press release, Ohme chargers will be available for viewing inside Changan dealerships, and the home EV charging company will provide full installation services as well as training and support for dealers. The two companies also plan to collaborate on vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and other home charging developments, although these have not been specified.
Ohme has provided a generic cost estimate for charging Changan vehicles using its hardware, stating that fully charging a Changan Deepal S05 with a 68.8 kWh battery using an Ohme charger could cost as little as £5.50. This is based on its WLTP range of 303 miles, using a dynamic EV tariff such as the Intelligent Octopus Go (here quoted at £0.08p/kWh). The company claims that its chargers use live grid data to automatically optimize charging cost and also feature a solar boost feature.
“With the successful introduction of the Changan Deepal S05 and S07 in the UK and exciting new models such as the new S05 Ultra PHEV on the horizon, we are delighted to be partnering with Ohme for the benefit of both Changan customers and our growing network of retailers,” said Nic Thomas, managing director of Changan UK.
This comes amid wider expansion in the UK by Changan, which first entered the market under its Deepal brand with its S07 electric SUV last year. The Chinese group initially planned to sell the S07 through 20 dealerships in the UK, with the network set to expand to 50 by the end of the year. The smaller Deepal S05 followed in February 2026, becoming Changan’s second model in the UK.
