As in other international markets, Mazda is importing the CX-6e as a CBU from its joint venture with Changan in China, which manufactures the model at a factory in Nanjing, Jiangsu. It offers the option of two versions: Premium and Premium Sports, priced at 1,259 million baht (approximately 33,500 euros) and 1,299 million baht (~34,600 euros), respectively.
Mazda offers the CX-6e in Thailand in a single technical configuration, which includes a combination of a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque and a 77.9 kWh LFP battery pack that supports up to 11 kW (AC)/194 kW (DC) charging. This configuration allows the CX-6e to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 185 km/h.
Via an AC charger, the LFP battery is fully charged in just 7 hours and 53 minutes, while via a DC charger, a 10 to 80 percent charging session is possible in just 24 minutes. In the Premium version, the CX-6e consumes 168 Wh/km and travels 484 kilometers on a single charge, according to WLTP. The Premium Sports version increases consumption to 170 Wh/km and reduces the WLTP autonomy to 468 kilometers.
Mazda equips the CX-6e in the Premium trim with features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats with 10-way (driver)/4-way (passenger) adjustment and a memory function (driver only), AR-HUD, a 256-color ambient lighting system, a 26.45-inch 5K touchscreen infotainment system and a 23-speaker sound system. The Premium Sports trim brings upgrades like digital side mirrors, 21-inch alloy wheels, digital IRVM, and heated and ventilated rear seats.
Both models share a forward obstruction warning system, a rear collision warning system, an intelligent brake assist system, an intelligent rear crossing brake assist system, a secondary collision mitigation system, a lane keeping assist system, a lane departure warning system, a lane departure prevention, an emergency lane keeping system and a host of other advanced driver assistance systems. Mazda also includes nine airbags as standard for passive safety.
In addition to Thailand, Mazda has introduced the CX-6e in two more right-hand drive markets: New Zealand and Australia, where dealers expect the first units to start arriving in showrooms later this month. In Australia, the company has received more than 2,000 pre-orders for the CX-6e and says 56 per cent of customers have chosen the brand for the first time with this model. Drive.com.au reported. Interestingly, it has not yet announced plans to launch either of its two electric vehicles built by Changan-Mazda JV in its home market.
