The upper division team fills its third quota position with a Scandinavian. Negotiations are still ongoing with three strikers from last year.
Peiting – EC Peiting filled two of the three contingent positions early on with Carson MacKinnon and Carson Briere – both players had already played for Upper Bavaria last season. With the third foreigner, however, the ECP took a little time. Now the upper division club has brought this personnel under wraps. Vincent Reimer will be hunting for goals for Pfaffenwinkler in the coming season. “This means that Swedish power is returning to our ice after a long time,” reported ECP spokesman Patrick Krabbat after the 24-year-old Swede was signed.
Reimer collected 36 points scorer in 26 games for his Norwegian club
The right-handed shooter was active for Gjövik Hockey in the second Norwegian league last year and had 36 points scorer in 26 games. Reimer, who was born in Leksand (Svealand region) in central Sweden, completed his training entirely in his home country. “And he knew early on how to draw attention to himself with goals,” Krabbat said about the 1.83 meter tall, 83 kilogram Scandinavian. “With his stature, Vincent can gain good advantages over his opponents and create so many scoring chances. He also has a good overview of his strike partners and also knows how to impress with his defensive work,” said Krabbat.
ECP coach Lanny Gare is happy about the Swedish newcomer, who decided to move to the Oberland despite better offers from Norway. “Vincent was our dream player early on and we are convinced that we will have a lot of fun with him in Peiting,” says Gare.
Some positions in the Peitinger squad are still vacant
Even after Reimer’s signing, there are still a few vacancies in the ECP squad. Candidates for this are Markus Czogallik, who has completed his further training, as well as Lukas Gohlke and Sebastian Lassmann. However, there are currently still question marks for all three strikers regarding their continued employment. “We are in close contact with Czogallik and Gohlke, who is actually an integral part of the Peitingen squad,” reports Krabbat. Peiting’s spokesman hopes to be able to report enforcement of these two personal details soon. However, the Peitingers cannot yet announce anything concrete about Lassmann, who was voted “Rookie of the Year” in the Oberliga Süd last season. “He would certainly be a welcome player at the ECP next winter,” said Krabbat about the 20-year-old.
