Iran War: US military announces start of new wave of attacks on Iran

The US military said it launched the second wave of attacks of the day against the Iran started. This began at 3 p.m. US Eastern time (9 p.m. German time), the US military command responsible for the region (Centcom) announced on the X platform. The attacks are therefore aimed at Iranian military capabilities that were used to threaten merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The US military had given a similar justification for attacks in recent days.

The pro-government Iranian news agency Mehr reported three explosions in the port city of Chabahar. Attacks are said to have also taken place in Rask in the extreme southeast of the country as well as in the area around Bandar Abbas on the Persian Gulf and in Ahwas in the southwest.

Trump doesn’t want to set a deadline

US President Donald Trump had recently once again threatened Iran with attacks on civilian infrastructure. When asked by a journalist whether he would give Iran an ultimatum before the US military began bombing bridges, Trump said: “I don’t like setting deadlines.”

On Tuesday, Trump said that next week all power plants and bridges would be destroyed “unless they (the Iranians) come to the negotiating table and negotiate,” he said in an interview with the US broadcaster Fox News. Trump also announced violent attacks in the coming nights.
