A driver died in a traffic accident in the northwest Mecklenburg district. According to the police, the 37-year-old, coming from Alt Meteln in the direction of Klein Trebbow, left the road for an unknown reason on Wednesday afternoon and crashed into a tree. The man died at the scene of the accident.

There were no other people in the car, a statement said. The criminal police are now investigating the cause of the accident.
