Private landlords: “I would never invest in real estate again”
Florian Voss owns something that many others can only dream of: apartments in Berlin. Voss bought not one, not two, but three properties a little over ten years ago and then rented them out. They are in a prime location in Kreuzberg on Skalitzer Straße, between Tempelhofer Feld and the Spree, surrounded by trendy bars and restaurants. Since Voss signed the first purchase agreement in 2011, the asking rents here have doubled from around eight to 16 euros per square meter.
Nevertheless, Voss says: “I would never invest in real estate again.” The self-employed producer has already sold his first apartment and he also wants to get rid of the other two. “I just have the feeling that I no longer have control over my possessions.” Voss actually has a different name. He does not want to see his real name published in combination with information about his financial situation.
