The Balearic Minister of Tourism confronts the tourism-phobic ‘kale borroka’ manual: “They are a radical minority”

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Balearics, Jaume Bauzahas rejected the action manual against tourism spread on the platform Menys tourism, more life and has condemned that a “radical minority seeks to impose its agenda through fear.”

In messages on social networks, Bauzá has defended that the criticism is legitimate, but added that “when a group shares manuals that recommend cover your face and plan actions against businesses or properties linked to tourism, it is appropriate for each one to decide if this is the path they want to take.

The councilor has been convinced that many people who express concerns about the future of the archipelago do so out of respect and the will to find solutions. “Therefore, it is worrying that some try to drag this debate towards increasingly radical positions»he pointed out.

Bauzá has stressed that he will always defend the right to demonstrate – the manual has been distributed as an action prior to the demonstration against the saturation of the next July 26-, but he has stated that with the same firmness he will “defend coexistence and legal security.” «Whoever has ideas, let him defend them in the light of day. “He who needs to hide behind a hood to act probably knows that what he does is not defensible.”he has indicated.

«Our islands are an open, welcoming and democratic land. “We will not allow a radical minority to try to impose their agenda through fear,” he concluded.

For its part, the Executive Committee of CAEB has shown its “absolute rejection” of the manual distributed by Menys tourism, more life for understanding that “crosses all the limits of coexistence” and “attacks the work and effort of the main economic engine of Balearics».

In that sense, they have warned that this document calls for “intimidating actions” to be carried out against companies and individuals in the services sector, as expressed by the employers’ association in a statement.

CAEB businessmen have pointed out that These types of manifestos are “incendiary” and “they totally unjustifiably pillory” the business community by “inciting violence.”

On the other hand, they have conveyed their wish that the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands investigates this manifesto in case it could lead to any type of crime.
