Bundesliga: World Cup participant Amenda moves from Frankfurt to Coventry
Swiss World Cup participant Aurèle Amenda is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to newly promoted Premier League team Coventry City in England. This was announced by the Bundesliga soccer team, where the 22-year-old has been under contract since January 2022. According to the club, he signed a long-term contract in Coventry. There was no information about the transfer fee.
Amenda came to Frankfurt from Young Boys Bern in January 2024, but completed the rest of the season in Bern. For the 2024/2025 season, the defender then moved to the Hessians, for whom he played 42 competitive games, including 29 in the past season. He was part of Switzerland’s squad at the World Cup, but was not used.
Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche thanked Amenda and emphasized: “He always behaved professionally and put himself at the service of the team.”
