The footballers of the Hamburger SV start the new Bundesliga season with a home game at the Volksparkstadion. Coach Rodolfo Cardoso’s team will face SC Freiburg in the Volksparkstadion on the first matchday from August 22nd to 24th. HSV announced this after publishing the new Bundesliga schedule.

Werder Bremen has to play against promoted team FSV Mainz 05 on the first match day. The fourth matchday will take place on the weekend of 12/13. September for the first northern derby between Werder and HSV.

The situation at German runner-up VfL Wolfsburg is special: Due to renovation work at the AOK stadium at home, the “Wolves” will initially play twice away at the start of the new season, against 1. FC Nürnberg and Bayer Leverkusen. The first home game is scheduled for the first weekend in September against Werder Bremen.
