Human resources department: VW crisis slows down appointments on the board – candidate from Bosch
According to media reports, VW found what they were looking for in their search for a new human resources director. The favorite for the human resources department is Erika Rasch, currently head of human resources at the supplier Boschreport “Correctiv” and “Handelsblatt”. The appointment on the supervisory board failed last Thursday because of the dispute over new savings measures in the group.
Volkswagen and Bosch declined to comment when asked. According to reports, the VW control body was actually supposed to decide on the personnel last Thursday. The candidate is held in high regard throughout the board, it was said in supervisory board circles. Basically everyone agreed that she should take over the position.
But then the employee side made their approval dependent on another personnel appointment: the appointment of a new technology department. According to company circles, this is not yet ready for a decision. There had never been any talk of such a combination before. In the end, Rasch’s appointment was not decided. The Bosch manager is still considered the favorite for the position, it was said.
The position of human resources director has been vacant for a year after Gunnar Kilian unexpectedly left in July 2025. At the time, the group had referred to “different ideas regarding the management of investment companies”. Since then, the group’s human resources department has been temporarily headed by VW brand boss Thomas Schäfer.
