For many years, Wiedemann has been responsible for selecting the groups for the traditional costume and rifle parade at the Munich Oktoberfest. In addition, he was very passionate about maintaining regional customs in the Alt-Schliersee traditional costume group and as long-time chairman of the Association of Historical Traditional Costumes of Old Bavaria. “Karl Wiedemann not only preserved Bavarian tradition, but also gave it a soul and a future through his work,” said Söder.
It is not the first high-profile award for the Miesbacher. Wiedemann had already received the Constitutional Order from State Parliament President Ilse Aigner (CSU) in 2024.
