The couple largely kept their relationship out of the public eye. Adendorf occasionally shared family moments and travel experiences on social media, but always remained discreet. Before South Africa’s first World Cup group game against Mexico, Adendorf addressed her partner directly via Instagram: “Good luck at the World Cup, my darling. I’m so proud of you and everything you’ve worked so hard for. Go out there, enjoy every moment and show the world what you can do. No matter what happens, I will always be your biggest supporter. I love you and can’t wait to cheer you on!” Adams played in all three group games and experienced the greatest success in the national team’s history with South Africa – reaching the knockout rounds.
Adams always prominently linked his daughter Allaïa-Jayda in his Instagram profile – a quiet but clear indication of how much his little family meant to him. The father-daughter account @laia_jayda was right next to his club name in the bio. Now the girl is without her father.
