The AEMET keeps the Valencian Community on orange alert: “Important danger”
The AEMET has decreed an orange alert for high temperatures in the Valencian Community for this Thursday, July 9. The State Meteorological Agency has lowered the red alert level and now warns of temperatures that could reach up to 42 degrees in the province of Alicante. In Valencia, another day of temperatures around 40 degrees is also expected and in Castellón only a warning has been activated in the southern interior of the province. In recent days, the Valencian Community has recorded historic temperatures of up to 44 degrees in some parts of the province of Valencia and this Thursday, July 9, there will be another day of suffocating heat, but without reaching these figures. «Significantly high temperatures, higher than 37-39 degrees in Valencia, Alicante and the southern interior of Castellón; in the south of Valencia and points in the extreme south of Alicante, 41-42 degrees will be reached,” confirmed the AEMET, which has activated an orange alert along the entire coast of the province of Alicante and in the south of the coast and southern interior of Valencia.

In the rest of the Valencian Community A yellow warning has been activated, except along the entire coast and the northern interior of the province of Castellón, where the alerts have been deactivated. Even so, the maximum in the area will be 36 degrees in the capital with minimums of 24 degrees at night.
In Valencia capital, the maximum will be 34 ºC during the early afternoon and thermometers will exceed 40 degrees in Onteniente and Requena. In the province of Alicante, thermometers will read 41 ºC in the town of Orihuela. In the capital of the Costa Blanca, the maximum during the day will be 36 degrees and the minimum at night will be 24.
