The spectacular attack on a truck keeps Tjark Wolf’s (Hendrik Duryn) investigative team on their toes in the fourth film in the “Dünentod” crime series on RTL. This is not the first incident of this kind…

Based on the dune crime novels by novelist Sven Koch, Hendrik Duryn has been investigating as Chief Inspector Tjark Wolf in the RTL crime series “Dünentod – A North Sea Crime” since 2023. Nine films have been released so far and two more are in development. RTL is bridging the waiting time until the broadcast, which is scheduled for spring 2027, with repeats of the old films, among other things. After the third film “Dünentod – A North Sea Crime: Death on the Sea” last week, it is now the turn of the fourth film “Dünentod – A North Sea Crime: Wrong Game”, based on the novel “Dünenfeuer”, from 2024.

In the film by Dominic Müller (director) and Gregor Erler (book), tranquil Friesland is shaken by a series of serious truck robberies. Commissioner Tjark Wolf (Hendrik Duryn) and his colleagues Femke Folkmer (Pia Barucki) and Ceylan Özer (Yasemin Cetinkaya) have to work with highway police officer Rena Fehmerling (Kristin Suckow) in their investigation. When Tjark wants to save the shepherd Leif (Jonas Lauenstein), who witnessed an attack and wanted to profit from the loot, he himself becomes the hunted again.

With 3.53 million viewers, “Dünentod – A North Sea Crime: Wrong Game” achieved the best number of the series so far among the overall audience when it was first broadcast in January 2024. This corresponded to a total market share of 13.5 percent. In the advertising-relevant target group, the film received 10.6 percent and 0.58 million viewers.
