Munich – With five goals in four games at the World Cup currently taking place in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Harry Kane once again underlines why FC Bayern definitely wants to extend the contract with their superstar. The striker’s current contract only runs until 2027, so the Munich team is well advised to provide clarity as quickly as possible – and that’s exactly the plan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, they would like to sit down with Kane and those around him immediately after the World Cup to specifically negotiate an extension. Both Kane and the Bayern bosses made it publicly clear several times that both sides are fundamentally interested in working together beyond 2027. However, the parties did not yet fully agree on the general conditions.

While Kane would reportedly like to sign a three-year contract until 2029, Max Eberl and Co. are initially imagining a working paper for two years, i.e. until 2028. Finally, the Englishman emphasized that it would most likely be his last big contract and that he therefore wanted to “get the most out of it”. So is staying with Bayern in danger?

Hardly, because according to Romano, people at Säbener Strasse are now willing to fulfill Kane’s wishes and “give him what he wants” – as long as it is within a framework that is feasible for the club. It is unclear whether the change of heart has something to do with Kane’s recent World Cup appearances or whether they have simply come to the conclusion that the Englishman still has three seasons at the top level in the tank despite being almost 33 years old.
