After a serious traffic accident Highway 8 closed in the direction of Stuttgart. There, the 51-year-old driver of a flatbed truck hit a truck and was seriously injured, the police said. The flatbed truck driver was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

The accident occurred at the Kemmental rest area between Ulm-West and Merklingen. It was initially unclear how the collision occurred. An accident expert and the police are still on site, said a spokesman. It is not yet possible to predict how long the closure will last in the direction of Stuttgart.
